All in all Reebok has designed some very impressive sportswear and continues to evolve with the time, there is no telling what else they'll accomplish.

Reebok Edge Jerseys

The Reebok edge jerseys are a new line of hockey jerseys designed by Reebok. They spent 3 years developing these jerseys. The new jerseys are tighter-fitting, are less water-absorbent, and are more flexible than before.

Heeding player complaints, Reebok has modified the Edge jerseys, removing the play-dry material in the front and making the sleeves bigger. The new jerseys, dubbed the Edge II, made their debut at the 2008 NHL Winter Classic on January 1, 2008.

The Reebok Edge Jersey has continued to evolve since, as the Reebok Edge material currently worn in the NHL resembles that of the pre-2007 CCM/Reebok jerseys more than the original Reebok Edge material.

Some teams have also altered the design of their uniforms or logos to match the Rbk edge material such as the San Jose Sharks, Tampa Bay Lightning, Ottawa Senators, Vancouver Canucks and the Minnesota Wild.

Here is a look at the jersey

  • Planet Reebok"
  • "I Am, What I Am"
  • "Run Easy"
  • "Because Life Is Not Just A Spectator Sport"

Reebok has used these slogans in their advertising. Reebok has grown quite popular due to their endorsements of professional athletes. They also have exclusive rights to manufacturing NFL, NHL, CFL and NBA jerseys which has solidified them as the kings of sportswear in North America.

The company also maintains its loyalty to its homeland. The Bolton Wanderers, a Premiership Club, named their stadium, Reebok Stadium. Reebok also sponsor four teams in the Australian Football League.

Reebok continues to grow on the sports leagues and there's no telling how far they can go. At the rate they're going, they might take over the whole sports world!

History of Reebok

In 1890 in Holcombe Brook, a small village in
England, Joseph William Foster was making a living producing regular running shoes when he came up with the idea to create a novelty spiked running shoe. After his ideas progressed he joined with his sons, and founded a shoe company named J.W. Foster and Sons in 1895.

In 1960, two of the founder's grandsons named the company Reebok. The name comes from the African word rhebok a type of antelope. They continued to manufacture shoes and eventually in 1979, Paul Fireman, a US sporting goods distributor, saw a pair of Reeboks at an international trade show and negotiated to sell them in North America.

A subsidiary of Adidas, Reebok has really formed a name of its own around the world. The sportswear company has endorsed many pro athletes around the world including Emmitt Smith, Shaquille O'Neal, Martin Brodeur, Sidney Crosby and Allen Iverson just to name a few. They have built their name well over the last few years.
